1. Introduction

PORTDA (“PORTDA”, “we”, “us”) is a marketplace that connects buyers of port & marine services (ship agents, charterers, vessel operators) with verified service vendors. This policy explains what we collect and how we handle it when you use our website (portda.in) and our buyer and vendor mobile apps.

2. Information we collect

Account & profile

Name, email, phone number, password (hashed), company details, role (buyer/vendor), and profile photo.

Vendor verification (KYC)

For vendors: GST and PAN details, address proof, ship references and related documents you submit for verification.

Transactional

Service requests, quotations, orders, chat messages and attachments, reviews, invoices and escrow/payment records.

Device & usage

Device model, platform, app version, push notification token, IP address, and usage/diagnostic logs.

Payments

Payments are processed by our payment partner (e.g. Razorpay). We store transaction references and status, but not full card numbers.

3. How we use your information

• To operate the marketplace — matching requests to vendors, quoting, ordering, escrow and settlement.
• To verify vendors (KYC) and maintain trust and safety.
• To send transactional and push notifications (order updates, payments, messages).
• To prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations.
• To improve and support the service.

4. How we share your information

• Between parties of a transaction — buyers and vendors see the details needed to complete an order. A vendor's real identity is masked from buyers until relevant; buyers are shown a stable vendor handle, rating and verified badge.
• Service providers — payment gateway, cloud hosting, push notifications (Google Firebase), and communications, strictly to run the service.
• Legal — where required by law, regulation or valid legal process.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. Notifications & device tokens

With your permission, the apps register a push notification token to deliver order, payment and message alerts via Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can disable push notifications in your device settings; the token is removed on logout and dormant tokens are pruned automatically.

6. Payments & escrow

Order payments are held in escrow and released to the vendor on completion, per our Terms. Payment card data is handled by our PCI-compliant payment partner — we never see or store your full card details.

7. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations. You may request deletion (subject to those obligations) — see Contact.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls and audit logging. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us below.
